I am a designer, a father and a dreamer.

Welcome to the start of Coffee & Comics, my journey into starting a coffee and comics shop in my town.

In many cities across the United States, it seems like there’s a bar, restaurant or brewery on every corner blasting music. Where can you go to relax, that’s not a bar?

Sure, there are plenty of Starbucks, Dunkin’, Dutch Bros, and other national coffee chains around. But let’s be honest – most of them feel more like workspaces than cozy spots to enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend. They lack that special charm.

I want to change that. Don’t you?

Start with the Coffee…

The hustle and bustle of a morning coffee shop is music to some peoples ears.

Besides offering top coffee shop vibes there will be hot & cold coffee + tea beverages. I would also love to provide pastries baked in-house or partner with a bakery in our town.

Release the Nerds

I love comics & I’m not the only one, the comic industry is both alive and thriving. What better way to serve the community than bringing about place where you can nerd out with others around a cup of coffee.

Have you ever seen someone who’s not an employee walking around with a Starbucks shirt on? No. But how about one of your favorite local shop? Here we’d offer limited amount of quality branded merchandise along with, you guessed it, comics.

Co-working space

Ideally having an additional floor opens up the possible opportunities for a co-working space and ability to host community events. Ranging from a weekly book club, to hosting author meetups and more.

The purpose of this space would be to keep the “this is a workplace” vibes away from the relaxing and inviting coffee shop experience.

This is something I wish to make happen in the near future. Join me on this journey?

Follow along as I try to build this from scratch and hopefully open in 2025? Ha! Maybe.

Until then, be sure to check out my comic blog and sign up for my newsletter for updates on this project.
